Why the Integrity of Gloves and Sleeves is Critical when Using Isolators [Video]

The integrity of gloves and sleeves is crucial for maintaining sterility of the Isolator systems.

Therefore, frequent inspection of the gloves and sleeves is required.

The glove is mostly used in combination with a sleeve to increase the handling ergonomically and reach as much area as possible in the decontaminate zone.

Sleeve & Glove Combination

Hence, for a better understanding “sleeve and glove combination” is simply called “gloves”.

The glove mounted on the isolator’s windows is the weakest point between the cleanroom and the decontaminated isolator chamber.

In fact, the glove allows the user to manipulate tools or to perform tests inside the isolator.

04.mm Thickness

This physical barrier between these two zones has a thickness of about 0.4mm and may be critical if this barrier is broken

Due to that, the necessity of controlling the glove integrity is important either to protect the product from contamination or to protect the operator from a toxic product.
